Full-day Workshop, light lunch and dinner included:
One-hour Portrait Session (optional add-on):
Led by acclaimed wildlife and landscape photographer Joe Desjardins, this immersive day invites you to capture the raw beauty of the wild—supported by expert insight, technical guidance, and the inspiration of an unparalleled natural environment.
Your creative journey begins with a Sunrise Shoot, when soft golden light illuminates the rugged terrain, offering the perfect canvas for your first images. Then, set out on a Wildlife Walk through Eden Wilds’ private trails, where you’ll learn to approach nature with a photographer’s eye, capturing signs of wildlife, dramatic landscapes, and, with luck, animals in their natural habitat.
After a mid-morning break, gather for a Nature Photography Masterclass, where Joe shares professional techniques in framing, lighting, and composition, with practical tips tailored to the wild.
In the afternoon, deepen your focus—wildlife, macro, or landscape—during a guided Photography Session designed to help you apply and refine your skills. As the day draws to a close, enjoy a relaxed dinner before heading out for the Sunset Shoot, when the golden hour paints the sky in warm hues, a poetic conclusion to your time behind the lens.
As an optional add-on, elevate your experience with a one-hour Portrait Session with Joe. Set against the dramatic backdrop of Eden Wilds, this is a rare opportunity to create timeless, professional portraits in a place you’ll never forget.
With nearly three decades behind the lens, Joe began his career as a studio photographer in Northern Ontario. He is now based in Calgary and continues to pursue his passion professionally by capturing nature’s most breathtaking moments.
A celebrated photographer, Joe is nationally published and has earned numerous awards and accreditations across a range of disciplines, including equine, landscape, nature, and wildlife photography. His dedication and artistry have been recognized with the prestigious Master Photographer (MPN) designation in Nature Photography from Master Photographers International (MPI). He is also the co-host of The Nature Photoguys Podcast.
Alongside his work behind the camera, Joe is also deeply committed to inspiring others. By teaching, hosting workshops, and speaking at engagements, he continues to share his expertise and promote a celebration of the wild through photography.
